I really find it amazing that these people believe they are different than all the other the network news shows. They never debate anybody of substance or report on both sides of an issue. Instead they only have guests who share thier political views. Watch some real news or read a book people these guys are a total waste of time.
@satarnag I am pretty much with you on the Fed thing. The leap I was referring to was the one from BSing bank books to saying regulation wont work. Regulation is what is needed to keep banks from pulling that. They will not do it on their own. They will do whatever makes them the most money.
Cenk don’t get fooled. BP may have been previously called British Petrolium but nearly 40% of BP’s share are owned by US interests.

@CptFilth: If you have ten choices and all ten are owned by corporations, then it’s not the eventual choice that’s wrong, but the system. Of course, not sure how to change the system at this point without, say, copious application of fire.
So…why do americans put up with politicians who are owned by banks? why are they elected to office? It seems like the saying “you have made your bed, now sleep in it” applies…
On walking away from an under water mortgage : I agree except in cases where homeowner’s RE-financed after they already bought the home, took CASH out, and spent it. If they purchased the home with an expectation of a certain value, and that’s why they agreed to BUY it, then the contract should be re-negotiated.

@Split539 Limited characters don’t allow me the luxury to articulate my point very well. The first step in understanding banking reform, is to understand how the Federal Reserve came to play. Then understand how fractional banking systems work. Somewhere between the two, you’ll understand how people like Cenk are totally wrong about banking reform. Trust me, the system is working as planned. The true solution is to get rid of the system.

Regarding accounting tricks in the banks, that is exactly what Ron Paul was trying to tell you Cenk but you couldn’t understand. Loaning someone 100,000 while keeping only $1,000 on the books and in the bank is fraud. So regulation will not work. What we need is a sound monetary policy where our first step is to get rid of the Federal Reserve. Also you keep confusing corporatism with capitalism. true capitalism means holding companies responsible for their own issues without any help from Govt
